With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the missions and moments in previous Fallout games in which players could engage in some of the most despicable crimes against humanity.
Obviously, you could gain plenty of negative Karma by just shooting every innocent person you see a la GTA, but that wouldn't make for a very interesting list. Though some factions, like the aforementioned Brotherhood and the shadowy Institution use some questionable methods, their end goals are still to save the Wasteland. Not only did it discard the Karma system, but it also doesn't feature any truly evil faction to side with. The recent Fallout 4, however, doesn't really let you go full evil. You could side with good factions, like the Brotherhood of Steel and the New California Republic, or you could help the evil schemes of the Enclave and Caesar's Legion. There's also the decision about morality, and the Fallout series does a great job of allowing you to be just as heroic or villainous as you want to be. You can choose to follow to follow the main story rigidly, or you can forget about saving your Vault and just get sidetracked by all the side missions and activities. But because shes been mentally programmed to be loyal to whoever owns her, she can be an evil person or a good person depending on the karma of the person. You can choose to diplomatically resolve conflicts by talking your way out of them, or you can choose to go in guns blazing and disintegrate every living thing in sight. Fallout, the post-apocalyptic role-playing series of video games, is one of the most beloved game franchises of all time, and a lot of that has to do with the freedom of choice available in these games.
